Parker Griffith wants on the "Right" Side

Greetings:

Making headlines across the valley is that Parker Griffith is changing parties.  This is really not much of a surprise at all, because his internal polling was most likely telling him that he could not win as a democrat. So, the wolf in sheeps clothing comes to mind.  What I find more interesting will be how the RNCC will respond to this.  Will they, in hopes of having an "R" on the roll, sell their principles and accept him, or will they recognize this strategy as one from a desperate moderate who is not good for our district.

Parker Griffith to hold press conference at 1 - but the real story will be the response of the established true conservative Les Phillip and the other republican candidate Mo Brooks.

Keep watching.

  1. I think Arlen Specter is saying to himself, "GOSH DARN IT, I SHOULD HAVE REMAINED A REPUBLICAN."

  3. How is Les the "the established" conservative? Having no record, he's established nothing thus far. Check people's records to find out what they believe. Actions speak louder than words.

  4. Mrs. Olsen,

I refer to Les as the "established" true conservative because he has been on the campaign trail talking about the hypocrisy of Parker Griffith since April. Regarding "actions," I could not agree with you more. Les is the only candidate I know of in this district who drove to Washington DC to show support of the tea party movement. He is the only Republican candidate in the district (remember that Griffith was still a democrat at the time) to hold town hall meetings to inform people in our district about the effect of the bill on their lives...etc, etc. He is also the only candidate in the race who has aggressively called Griffith what he is, and has worked to make sure the voters in the fifth district hear about it. I am not sure what else he could have done - but the only comparison would be Mr. Brooks, who has publicly said that his campaign won't go "public" until April. If we wait until April, we will end up having Griffith v. whoever comes out of the democrats primary, which to me will be two people who are for a single payer system (yes Griffith is on record of wanting that).
